Al-Kafiyah ash-Shafiyah (An-Nooniyyah)

Al-Kafiyah ash-Shafiyah, widely known as an-Nooniyyah, is a monumental didactic poem by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah with approximately 6,000 verses. The work is considered one of his most significant writings in defense of the ‘Aqeedah of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama‘ah. In an impressive poetic form, Ibn al-Qayyim addresses central themes such as Tawheed, divine attributes, al-Qadar (predestination), and Imaan, while engaging with the positions of the Jahmiyyah, Mu‘tazilah, and other theological groups. Through the combination of well-founded theological argumentation and outstanding linguistic expressiveness, an-Nooniyyah is among the most important didactic poems in Islamic ‘Aqeedah literature and continues to be studied and memorized by students of knowledge today.
