Kitab al-Wara'

Kitab al-Wara‘ is a significant classical work on the spiritual and ethical stance of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, transmitted by Abu Bakr al-Marwazi. It focuses on Wara‘ – the particular caution regarding the forbidden and the doubtful – as a path to purifying the heart and strengthening faith.

The work contains numerous traditions, legal questions and answers from Imam Ahmad, as well as a supplementary collection of Tafsir traditions. This edition also includes previously unpublished marginal notes, commentaries, and additions.
